Desalination Plant to Produce Fresh Water From Sea Water

With JGC playing the leading role in its development, the consortium reached an agreement in 2017 with the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company S.A.O.C. to conduct a sea-water desalination business in the eastern part of the Sultanate of Oman.
The project involves the construction of reverse osmosis facilities capable of producing approximately 80,000 cubic meters of water for domestic use by roughly 200,000 people together with the maintenance and operation of the plant for 20 years as a BOO (Build/Own/Operate) business and is due to begin commercial operation in 2021.
