The Keio University Hospital is located in Central Tokyo, while also being close to the wealth of nature of Meijijingu Gaien and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. The hospital offers advanced medicine that aims to realize "unifying basic and clinical science in medicine" in an environment combining urban functions with nature.

In aiming to restore the hospital's old facilities and improve its safety and comfort for patients, this project was launched as part of an initiative to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Keio University School of Medicine. An initiative is being implemented to establish a university hospital that is new from both hard (building) and soft (operational) perspectives, based on the following four concepts:

  • Realizing cluster treatment by bringing together medical teams
  • Establishing a global medical hub offering basic integrated clinical science
  • Promoting urban community-based healthcare that is resistant to disasters
  • Fostering healthcare workers who will lead the world through coordination between doctors, nurses and drugs

Through project management, JGC worked closely with the university to ensure the proper management of quality, cost and the schedule, contributing to the establishment of the new Keio University Hospital.
