We are pleased to announce that on Monday, March 25, an "International Women's Day Event" was held at the headquarters of JGC Holdings Corporation ("JGC HD").

1. Event Details

This event was held under the theme of "Invest in women" to encourage participants to make Inclusion & Diversity ("I&D") a personal matter in order to realize a society in which diverse human resources can work together. Thanks in part to a call to action by the organizer, An-Nahal Inc., the event was attended by about 50 participants from Kanagawa Prefecture-based companies and organizations. In the context of connections that transcended organizational boundaries, the participants and I&D professionals discussed "why we invest in women" and "what kind of investment we can make in women".

The event consisted of three parts to understand and think about the "Why," "What," and "How" of I&D promotion.

The first part of the event featured a keynote speech by journalist Ms. Keiko Hamada on the theme of "Why does 'Invest in women' exist?"

The second part of the seminar was themed "What is 'Invest in women'"? and featured speakers from JGC Corporation, Obayashi Corporation, and Picnic Room, Inc. who are leaders in I&D promotion, who introduced examples of their companies' efforts to invest in women.

In the third part, under the theme of the "What & How of 'Invest in women'", the attendees from the participating companies and organizations were divided into 10 groups for discussions concerning how each company is actually investing in women. The participants discussed how their companies are actually investing in women and what challenges they face, and each participant stated the actions they intend to take in the immediate future to invest in women and promote I&D. Participants actively exchanged opinions on what kind of investments can be made toward a society where diverse human resources can work together in the future.

2. 2. I&D Promotion in JGC HD
   

   JGC HD has established and is promoting a basic I&D policy with the aim of realizing a society in which everyone can be active and fulfilled in their own way. This event will not only further accelerate the promotion of I&D within the company, but also strengthen the I&D network among Kanagawa Prefecture-based companies and encourage women's activities in society as a whole, thereby contributing to the realization of a society in which everyone can be themselves and thrive.
