Contributing to the resolution of diversified overseas water infrastructure issues

‐Strategic partnership agreement concluded with Nihon Suido Consultants-

Yokohama, JapanJGC Holdings Corporation (Representative Director, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer: Masayuki Sato) announces that JGC Corporation (President: Yutaka Yamazaki) has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Nihon Suido Consultants Co., Ltd. (President: Kazunori Mayama), a engineering consulting company specializing in water infrastructure, in the field of overseas water infrastructure.

Against the backdrop of the increasing demand for water due to global population growth and urbanisation, securing stable and efficient procurement and use of water resources has become a major challenge on a global scale. From the perspective of reducing environmental impacts, entities involved in water infrastructure are required to fulfill their social responsibilities in securing water resources and making effective use of that water. The challenges for water infrastructure are becoming increasingly diverse, including the promotion of reclaimed water and zero liquid discharge (ZLD).

Through this agreement, we will contribute to the realization of water infrastructure that is both environmentally friendly and economically viable by combining Nihon Suido Consultants' extensive technical knowledge in the field of water infrastructure with JGC's engineering and project management capabilities, as well as the ability to propose technological solutions that reduce environmental impacts.

JGC and Nihon Suido Consultants will jointly carry out F/S, FEED, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), and Operation&Maintenance (O&M) services for overseas water and wastewater treatment facilities, seawater desalination facilities, and water infrastructure in industrial parks.

JGC aims to enter the overseas water infrastructure sector by structuring and proposing water infrastructure projects that meet the diverse needs of regions and customers, and this agreement with Nihon Suido Consultants will further accelerate these activities. In addition, we will contribute to the realization of high value-added infrastructure by proposing decarbonization and low-carbon solutions, including the use of renewable energy, from the project planning stage for complex infrastructure projects that include water treatment facilities.
