JGC awarded FEED Contract for the Nigeria LNG Plant Expansion Project

Yokohama, Japan - JGC Corporation (hereinafter referred as to "JGC") announced today that it has been awarded a contract for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) costs estimation, for the LNG Plant Expansion Project planned by Nigeria LNG Limited (hereinafter referred as to "Nigeria LNG," Investor/Investment ratio: Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/49 %, Shell/25.6 %, Total of France/15.0 %、Eni of Italy/10.4 %), in cooperation with KBR of the U.S. and TechnipFMC of the U.K.

Currently Nigeria LNG operates six trains (annual production of approx. 22 million tons) at its LNG plant on Bonny Island in Nigeria. This project is aimed to enlarge production capacity by adding a seventh train and common liquefaction unit (CLU) to the existing trains.

JGC executed all the EPC work for the six trains of the LNG plant operated by Nigeria LNG from 1997-2007 in cooperation with KBR and others. For this project as well, JGC will aim to receive the contract for EPC by leveraging its high design abilities for LNG plants and performance in executing projects for Nigeria LNG.

JGC has worked on construction for approx. 30 % of LNG plants out of total global LNG production. And JGC is currently executing a total of 4 LNG plant construction projects, including onshore LNG plants in Australia and Russia, as well as FLNG (Floating LNG) plants off the coast of Malaysia and off the coast of Mozambique. Additionally, JGC has been awarded 2 contracts in succession in North America from Jordan Cove LNG and LNG Canada from last year through the current year, and will start EPC work for those two projects once the final investment decisions (FID) are conducted by the clients.

Due to the current expansion of demand for LNG mainly in China, business discussions for new large-scale LNG plants in North America and Africa as well as plant expansion projects are actively being carried out. As a top contractor in the LNG field, JGC will continue to develop its strong business activities and crystalize its position.
