Opening of a Japanese-style Rehabilitation Facility in Vladivostok, Russia

Yokohama, Japan - JGC Corporation announced today that JGC Hokuto Healthcare Service, LLC, established by JGC and Hokuto Social Medical Corporation in Vladivostok city in the Russian Federation in July 2017, has opened a rehabilitation center in Vladivostok after preparations such as training of Russian therapists in Russia and Japan to launch its operation.

Its opening ceremony was held on the site today, attended by Russian and Japanese government officials, as well as the top management of both investors.

This facility has been opened in order to provide quality medical services of Japanese-style rehabilitation in Russia under the supervision and based on advice from Japanese therapists. It is an initiative that follows the Eight-point Economic Cooperation Plan, the agreement reached between the Russian and Japanese governments in December 2016.

One of the targets in JGC's medium-term business plan "Beyond the Horizon", covering the 5 years from FY2016, is to promote overseas business in the pharmaceutical and medical field by leveraging existing achievements in Japan. JGC is committed to continuing to help improve the standard of medical care across the world through proactive initiatives to design, build and operate pharmaceutical plants and medical facilities in line with the needs of target regions.
