JGC Subsidiary Awarded Lubricants Plant Project in Indonesia


Yokohama, JapanJGC Indonesia, JGC Corporation's Indonesian subsidiary, has been awarded a contract for the construction of a lubricants production plant in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia by PT. JX Nippon Oil & Energy Lubricants Indonesia, a local joint venture between JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (80%) and Andalan Group (20%).

The contract, awarded on a lump-sum turnkey basis, calls for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for the lubricants plant, as well as commissioning support. The plant will have a production capacity of 40,000 kiloliters/year of lubricating oils, and is scheduled for completion in March of 2012.

The purpose of the project is to provide PT. JX Nippon Oil & Energy Lubricants Indonesia with a new production base for lubricant oils for sale in the expanding domestic market. JGC Indonesia has over 600 employees and more than 30 years of experience working on local projects as the regional arm of JGC Corporation. The company also independently performs EPC for domestic projects, and will be undertaking this project as a standalone contractor.

One goal set forth in JGC Group's new five year management plan "New Horizon 2015" is the strengthening and expansion of overseas subsidiaries. Developing countries are currently experiencing rapid economic growth, and thus, demand for investment in local industry is rising.
