Clean Energy and Power Generation

Mega-solar Power Plant (Chiba)

Featured Project

Currently, Japan is working to expand sustainable energy generation, including solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and biomass power, in order to foster industry while helping to mitigate global warming, and develop new sustainable technology while cutting costs.

As part of the expansion of sustainable energy in Japan, JGC received a contract from Futtsu Solar, Inc. to build the largest solar photovoltaic power plant in the Kanto region. The plant started commercial operation in July 2014.

In 2010, JGC initiated a solar thermal power generation business in Spain, and in 2012 constructed a solar power plant in Japan’s Oita prefecture. Through these projects, we have gained experience in both facilities and management of sustainable energy plants, from both a technological and a cost-optimization perspective. As demand for electricity rises rapidly in Japan and overseas, JGC plans to continue to pursue active development and construction of sustainable energy plant businesses.
