LNG Plant (Bintulu, Sarawak)

Featured Project

Malaysia

Owned by Petronas, the Malaysian state-owned oil company, the Bintulu LNG Complex is one of the largest LNG production centers in the world. Eight (8) trains at the complex are in operation and the ninth is currently under construction.

Starting from the 1980's, JGC has for over 30 years performed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) work for the plant's existing eight trains, as well as rejuvenation and upgrading work to increase production capacity. Based on the long track record of contributions to Petronas, detailed knowledge of the Bintulu LNG Complex, and overall high-level technological capabilities, Petronas awarded to JGC the EPCC contract for the Train 9 in 2013, and in 2014 awarded a further contract for the rejuvenation of Trains 4, 5 and 6. Both projects are currently under way.

Through the successful completion of these projects, it is the sincere wish of JGC to deepen the company's relationship of trust with Petronas, targeting further opportunities to contribute in the future.
